Prospectus and Report 1890-91

Dynevor School began in 1883 as a Higher Grade Board School in Trinity Place that was run under the Swansea school board system. Board schools offered education beyond basic elementary level, often including science and technical subjects.

The 1890-91 document contains a wealth of information on the school’s standards and subjects of instruction, rules (which parents were requested to cooperate with), references the building of the ‘New Higher Grade School’ on the site of Russell House, lists examination results (from 1884), specific prizes and certificates awarded and the annual inspection report.

Lists of Old Boys, many of whom are noted in the Prospectus and Report, were found inside the cover of a copy of the document and have been included in the photographs for 1910, the year in which at least part of the list was written.
